BIOGRAPHY : Founded by guitarist Thomas Michel, Hell Is Nothing (HIN) is a progressive metal band drawing its roots from various influences ranging from prog rock to djent.
After many years of maturing the project and paying particular attention to the arrangements, the haunting atmospheres and the overpowering riffs, Thomas decided to surround himself with musicians in order to bring HIN to life on stage.
In 2021, the group is completed by Charles THUMLOUP on bass, Enrique ARAOZ on guitar, Pierre COZIEN on vocals and finally drummer Kevin PLUTTA in 2022.
Drawing its deep roots in metal and mingling with various influences such as prog pop rock from Porcupine Tree to Meshuggah, HIN mixes genres, allowing to subtly combine the power of heavy and percussive riffs, with atmospheric, rich and melodic parts.
The universe of HIN travels through bewitching soundscapes, and challenges with its indirect approach in the composition of the pieces, being able as well to wake up and capture the listener with percussive introductions as to make him wait until the explosion of his music.
The music speaks of introspection, human evolution & contemplation.
The band will release their first 5-track EP entitled « The Circle » on September 29, 2023 under the M&O Music label.
